Needwant is the new record label set up by Sean Brosnan

Needwant is the new record label set up by Sean Brosnan, designed as an outlet for both artist singles and compilations, including the continuation of the successful Future Disco series.

Incorporating a sound that is described by Sean as ‘somewhere between house and disco’, Needwant draws from an international pool of talent. The label aims to showcase both existing and new producers with no limits of product, from bands to t-shirts.

Sean explains, ‘Record labels aren’t just pressing records anymore, it’s about looking at the different ways people enjoy your music and what the label stands for. We don’t want to be a record label in the traditional sense but throw parties and indulge in areas such as fashion or art. Who knows how we will be listening to music in five or ten years time, but we always want Needwant to be relevant’.

The first release on the label will be the second in the Future Disco compilation series. The album is a collection of some the best modern day disco featuring producers such as Todd Terje, Tensnake, Prins Thomas and Faze Action.

The first single is due in October from the Melbourne based duo Fromage. The track ‘Vicious’ comes complete with a remix from New York darlings Runaway and will be available first on a limited vinyl run. Releases in the pipeline are scheduled from slow mo house hero The Revenge, the now Berlin based Balearic aficionado Kaine and the unofficial Glimmer, Ray Mang,

Future Disco Vol 2 – Out Now.
